A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

Jonelle Mullen and Tracy Mullen

TuDane Farm at Meadow Lark Farm is conveniently located in The Plains, Virginia.

We are a private equine and equestrian training facility for customers serious about showing in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. We specialize in superior care, management and training, producing educated riders and selling quality horses.

Whether starting in short stirrup or showing at the national hunter and equitation finals, students of all levels can benefit from the TuDane program. With the best care and horsemanship in mind, each client is given personalized attention to bring out the most from each horse and rider, ensure that riders' goals are achieved, and horsemen and horsewomen are made.

Our top-class facility includes 113 acres of land, in Middleburg Hunt country, clean and modern amenities including a large outdoor riding ring (150' x 250'), a 80’ x 218’ indoor arena (both with auto-watering systems, to keep footing at it's best), a Grand Prix field, two tack rooms, grooming stalls, wash stalls with hot and cold water, heated bathrooms, heated auto waterers in the paddocks and fields for outside riding.

We are accessible to Dulles and Reagan National airports, and many major roadways that offer ease of shipping to many local and national horse shows.

Busy students and professionals can take great peace of mind and be rest assured that their horses are tended to and exercised regularly.  When customers get to the farm to ride, their horse is ready, fit and in a good frame of mind.

Jonelle Mullen, the trainer and manager of TuDane Farm, has been involved in the equestrian community since childhood and her pursuit for excellence is evidenced by her many accomplishments. Jonelle was trained by her mother, Tracy Mullen and was involved in the 4-H and Pony Club in her early childhood years, and later went on to focus on Hunt Seat Equitation, qualifying for the Medal, Maclay and USET finals as a junior. Jonelle graduated as Salutatorian of her high school in Long Island, NY, and was awarded a partial scholarship to Cornell University based on academics and sports (women's basketball). There she also participated on the Cornell Equestrian Team and was National Alumni Open Champion on the Flat and National Reserve Open Champion O/F. Jonelle graduated from Cornell with B. S. in Applied Economics and a Business Management degree. In 1992, after working in New York City and Washington, DC, in marketing, she decided to start her own business and return to her equestrian pursuits full time.

TuDane Farm also employs the expertise of Tracy Mullen, Jonelle’s mother, as assistant trainer. Tracy is the original founder of TuDane Farm and is a long-time equestrian professional.

Tracy relocated to Virginia in 1990 and turned the reins over to Jonelle in 1993, but continues to teach, train and coach in partnership with Jonelle. Tracy is a USEF “R” Judge certified in Hunters and Hunt Seat Equitation, and a member of the United States Equestrian Federation, the United States Hunter Jumper Association and the Virginia Horse Shows Association.
